Major & Career Goals

My Vision

In 5 years' time, I aspire to become a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. I envision myself completing my DPT on the path to becoming certified, building up my own practice, and gaining clientele while being a personal trainer on the side.

Major

B.S. Exercise Science

I am currently on the path to achieving a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, a major which studies the science of human movement. I chose this major because I have a genuine passion for helping others live healthier lifestyles with the knowledge I have gained through my education and life experiences. With this major, I would be able to get into Physical Therapy school on the path to recieving a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and become a Certified Pelvic Floor Therapist by obtaining a Pelvic Health Certification and Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification.

Career

Physical Therapist

After constantly exploring different fields. I feel that Pelvic Floor Therapy is my calling and ultimately my goal. Being able to witness how resilient the human body is, as a patient undergoes the rehab and recovery process would be fulfilling. Witnessing that perseverance and effort put forth throughout the process as a Pelvic Floor Therapist would be rewarding especially knowing I had a role in restoring a patient's function. I would love to help women feel amazing again in their own body and skin and overall I want to help women be the best version of themselves. Women are capable of amazing things one of those miracles being pregnancy and I’ve always wanted to contribute in some sort of way. After witnessing the adversities of childbirth my mother and sister underwent which resulted in pelvic issues and muscle tears. Seeing them suffer, go through emotional and mental battles to having all of that energy sucked out of them, and feeling as though they are not enough pained me yet inspired me to learn more about pelvic floor therapy in hopes to one day help women recover after going through such adversities.
